Yes, Voting Means Leading People First
It’s November 2nd, 2020 and we are at a critical time here in the United States. Election Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3rd. No matter which side of the political spectrum you find yourself, it is required by us as citizens to go out and vote.
“What does voting having to do with Leading People First?”
Voting is about engagement and upholding the values we hold with the highest regard. Leading People First is the same.
When we lead, we require ourselves to engage with those around us: our employees, colleagues, friends, family, and community. The impact of our actions go beyond our workspaces and our homes. So now is the time to make an intentional impact.
And when we think of people first, we must think about how we put OTHERS first, not only ourselves. True People First Leaders prioritize the people before the policies, the profits, the outcomes. People are not a means to an end, they ARE the goal. Keep that in mind when you vote and encourage those around you to do the same.
While it is too late to vote by mail in most states, it is still possible to drop off your ballot at a polling station in-person. Do not be intimidated by those who may discourage you exercising your right to your voice. Stay safe and adhere to guidelines, specifically COVID-19 guidelines.
